This year, Fairview UMC had the opportunity to host and participate in many forms of fellowship and giving. Members of our church began preparing food for our chicken & dumplings dinner on Friday, November 14. On Sunday, November 16, Fairview served over 179 dinners to members of the community to raise funds for the church building. We are overwhelmed with joy and gratitude for all who came out to join us in laughter, love, and a wonderful meal. The craft bazaar was another place of support that our community provided, helping our Fairview Quilters raise money to donate to the church building and local needs.

Thursday, November 27, Fairview joined St. Clair UMC and several other local groups to help serve a free Thanksgiving meal to the community. Many of our congregants either served food or donated desserts and turkeys. Meals were served between 11am - 2pm, which required a joyful and welcoming crew! We are very grateful to have been invited to help serve God's children in our area.

At Fairview, we believe in following in Christ's footsteps by giving what we can to others. Matthew 25:37-40 is our framework for treating all people with dignity and worthy of support:
"37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ 40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'"
We look forward to serving and creating more warm fellowship this Advent season!
